My Story
Liam Hargis is a Manual Osteopathic Practitioner originally from Ottawa. He first earned his Bachelor of Health Sciences with a concentration in Biomedical Science at Carleton University, where he built a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and health research. Following this, he completed the rigorous 4-year program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, where he gained more than 2,000 hours of supervised clinical practice and developed a deep appreciation for the body’s natural ability to heal and adapt.

Before becoming an osteopathic practitioner, Liam worked as a physician’s assistant and in IT, experiences that taught him the importance of problem-solving, adaptability, and patient-centered care. These roles strengthened his ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and support people in a variety of healthcare settings.

Sports and nature have always been an important part of Liam’s life. He competed nationally in wrestling, played football for 14 years, and trained in track and field. These experiences give him a unique perspective on the needs of athletes and the importance of maintaining healthy patterns for both performance and recovery. Outside of sports, Liam spends much of his time outdoors hiking, canoeing, camping, fishing, and golfing—activities that help him understand the repetitive strains and stresses active people face.

For Liam, osteopathy is where all of these threads come together. It allows him to combine his academic training, clinical practice, and life experiences to support people in reducing pain, restoring mobility, and improving overall well-being. His approach is rooted in working with the body’s natural ability to heal and adapt, with the goal of helping each patient feel their best and continue doing what they love—whether that’s excelling in sport, exploring the outdoors, or simply moving through daily life with more ease.
