My Story

Marla Soubhie is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who offers a warm, supportive, and down-to-earth approach to therapy. She creates a space where clients can show up as they are, feel genuinely heard, and begin making sense of what may feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to carry alone.

With a background in social work, counselling, education, and community support, Marla works with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, grief, life transitions, challenges with boundaries and self-worth, and emotional overwhelm.

She has a particular interest in reproductive and perinatal mental health, supporting clients through fertility journeys, pregnancy, postpartum transitions, reproductive loss, and the emotional complexities that can accompany these stages of life. She has completed additional training in Therapy Essentials for the Reproductive Years, including fertility, pregnancy, postpartum mental health, reproductive loss, and couples work.

Marla’s approach is relational, collaborative, and trauma-informed. She integrates evidence-informed approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) alongside somatic and body-based practices. Her work recognizes that our experiences can show up not only in our thoughts and emotions, but also in the way our bodies respond to stress.

Together, therapy may focus on understanding patterns, building emotional regulation skills, strengthening boundaries, developing greater self-awareness, and finding practical tools that feel realistic in everyday life.

Marla believes you don’t need a “good enough” reason to begin therapy, and you certainly don’t need to know exactly what you want to say before you arrive. You can come with a messy collection of thoughts, something you can’t quite make sense of, or simply the feeling that something isn’t right.

You can start there.
